The personal information we collect

We currently collect and process the following information (if provided by you):

Domestic customer

  • Name, email address, telephone number

  • Home address, site address if differs

  • Credit card details, if payment accepted by credit card. We do not hold credit card details after processing a payment.

Trade customer

  • Name, email addresses, telephone number

  • Business name. company registration number

  • Registered office address

How we get the personal information and why we have it

The personal information we process is provided to us directly by you.

We obtain your information from our website forms you submit, e-mails you send us &/or from your telephone conversations with us.

The personal information we process is for the following reasons, as appropriate:

  1. we use the information that you have given us in order to provide estimates & undertake work for you;

  2. we use the information that you have given us in order to hire equipment to you;

  3. we use the information that you have given us in order to invoice you and where necessary to collect non-payment of your invoice;

  4. we use the information that you have given us for your job application.

We never share your information with others, unless

  1. required to do so by law;

  2. to collect your unpaid debts through the courts;

  3. we sell your unpaid debt to a collection agency.

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), the lawful base we rely on for processing this information is:

How we store your personal information and for how long

Your information is securely stored.

​

We periodically review how long we need to keep personal information. We hold your personal information for as long as is necessary for the relevant activity or as long as set out in the contract you have with us. Otherwise, we keep personal information as follows before disposal:​

1. Enquiries not resulting in a contractual obligation: 6 months.

2. Invoices are held by our Accountant until the following April after 7 years.

3. Construction and landscape contracts (other than invoices): the later of:

  • full payment,​

  • 1 year,

  • the period of warranty for our work. 

4. Hire contracts (other than invoices): the earlier of:

  • 7 years since your last contact (but your account lapses after 2 years), or

  • on request from you.

5. Job application: the earlier of:

  • 5 years since application (to advise you of an opportunity),

  • on request from you, or

  • employment with Laurdan Limited: any information not transferred to our employee database.

 

We will then dispose of your information by shredding information on paper and permanently deleting information on computer.

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

Your right of access - You have the right to ask us for a copy of your personal information. We do not charge you for this, and we will send it by email.

Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to as us to complete information you think is incomplete.

Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
